OTHER RANKS FULL DRESS UNIFORMS
FULL-DRESS TUNICS
There were three separate classes of Full Dress tunic worn by the Foot Guards. The First Class (or Staff Sergeants) Tunic was worn by the Quartermaster Sergeant, Chief Superintending Clerk and Regimental Sergeant-Major. This tunic had gold lace on the collar above and below with a patch of lace at each end of the collar. Upon this collar was the regimental badge in gold. The shoulder straps were also edged in gold lace, with a gold regimental device at the end. The three pointed patches on the cuff were edged in gold lace and had gold lace bars with buttons. The tunic skirts were similarly laced.
The 2nd or Sergeant's class Tunic was of a somewhat lower quality than the 1st Class. The bars on the cuff slashes were gold lace but there was no gold lace edging and the collar had no gold lace. There were gold lace bars on the rear skirts.
The other ranks quality tunic had no gold lace. The distinguishing badges on collar and shoulder straps were white.

BEARSKIN CAPS
The Bearskin Caps of Warrant Officers, Sergeants and other rank were meant to be an inch shorter in height than the officers version. However, in practice, partly due to the supply of fur from Canada remaining steady, the caps were much the same height. The plumes were of mainly goatskin and shorter than the officers. The Grenadier Guards were said to brush their fur almost over the plumes presenting little of the whiteness.
